Roo Taylor (b. 2003) is a Baltimore based artist originally from Denver. She has a BFA in Painting from the Maryland Institute College of Art. She works in a combination of acrylic paint and ink, utilizing transparency, to amplify colors within figure, place, and expression of feeling. Her work captures the through lines between the natural world and human connection. Born from an appreciation of transparency and color, her body of work reflects on how closeness thrives not in spite of our differences, but because of them. The bonds created through love are not isolated, but rather one piece of a larger system. She uses both light and color as a metaphor for the energy both a place and a person can hold.
